Hit The Note

Developed by C O I N

Hit The Note is an educational game that tests and develops your musical aptitude. You start by pressing “play” button and after a short intro the game starts playing notes. You have to guess which note was played by pressing the corresponding key on the on-screen piano keyboard. If a correct answer was given a green check will be displayed and score board adjusted. If you were wrong it will be indicated with a red “x”. The game keeps score by calculating the percentage of correctly guessed notes. Depending on the difficulty setting a single game consists of 30 or 50 played notes. When the game finishes a distinct “crash cymbal” tone is played. You have only one guess per note played, the game will ignore any subsequent guesses until next note is played. If you dont press a key until next note is played it is counted as a incorrect guess.

Game modes:

•Easy: all tones are in C major (C, D, E, F, G, A, B - only white keys), 30 notes are played, 60 bps rhythm
•Medium: Easy + 50 notes played, faster rhythm (80 bps)
•Hard: Medium + chromatic scale (C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G#, A, Bb, B - white and black keys)

While playing in "easy" or "medium" mode all black keys are ignored to minimize accidental errors. They are enabled only in "hard" mode or when the game is idle.

During the game you can press pause if you get interrupted, but to prevent cheating you can do so only three times per each game.

Before you start the game you can play on the on-board piano keyboard to warm up and get some intonation.

The first note is always C (leftmost white key) to give orientation to the player. The intro is one measure long (4 clicks), the game plays 2 notes per measure, so you have half a measure to get it right. If you loose rhythm the game will adjust and play the next note exactly half a measure after your guess.
